I am a PhD student at The University of Queensland and am completing my thesis "Late Cenozoic alkaline magmatism in Papua New Guinea: Tectonic controls on melt generation and implications for mineral prospectivity". By combining geochemical, geophysical, geochronological and field observations, this collaborative project aims to shed light on the tectonic mechanisms that generated ambiguous magmas which host some of the world's largest gold, copper and silver deposits.
